Hi! You've reached the blog of Talya Firedancer. This place is for my mental maunderings and random thoughts. XD I'm twenty-three, a Leo, and an irredeemable yaoitic fangirl and fanfiction writer. I enjoy anime, reading and writing, playing around with the internet, my Playstation 2, and the two cats that run around the house. Right now I work as an admin assistant for peanuts, but my dream job is either as an editor with a publishing company, or a bestselling author. XD

Currently reading: "The Dark is Rising," by Susan Cooper.
"Good Omens" by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.

Currently playing: "Final Fantasy Four."

Currently writing: "Burn Like the Sun." Previews at Tayfic.

Current scary searchengine hit: Oh, shoot me now.

The Sparkly-Motor has re-engaged.

ALL RIGHT!! I no longer need to live in fear. The dentist sent me a $275 bill, which naturally engaged panic reflexes because insurance was supposed to handle that, and I'm still trying to recover from June and July's credit card bills. >.> Insurance informed me that the claim is being processed and there's no reason it shouldn't go through. Gentech jumped the gun.

I feel much better now.

Anyhow, I wanted to talk about the Final Fantasy X magazine I leafed through at Kino's on Tuesday, but I'm out of time.

Ka, I found a few biddable Recca pictures at Raiha-chan's site. I went through about twenty sites and that was the best I could find.

If Ashley doesn't stop listening to THAT SONG ("Ghost") on repeat, I'm going to brain him and let Sydney have his way with him. @_@

And "Burn Like the Sun" is Breaking Me.

A tisket, a tasket, a bunny in a basket...

In peeji update news, I spent a good chunk of time last night uploading (most) of the fic I have saved on my hard drive. There are still GW and YYH fics missing, of course, and if I ever get up the motivation to poke through the dross, I might even get around to uploading the rest. Some day. Mostly, I look at the vast majority of my old fic with dismay. Even some of the Flame of Recca fic.

Occasionally, I'll read something I wrote over a year ago and comment to myself, "this doesn't suck." And Touma says, "It needs more sex." And some of the assorted newer voices say, "It's already skimpy on the plot, you pervert!"

So, I've got a Sydney and he wants assorted ficcage. He's tired of Ashley bleeding angst all over the place. And I'm tired of the complicated mess that Zax, Cloud, and Sephiroth have gotten themselves into -- and they're not helpful about how to sort that out, no, of course not! -- so I'm 'bout ready to switch over to some other WIP.

Not only that, but a Pet Shop of Horrors bunny has latched on and is absently gnawing on me. Puu, or anyone else who has a reasonable knowledge of Japanese and PSoH, do you know what the name is for the Ram-boy who shows up in, oh, around vol. 3? I need to know his name...tried to leaf through and find it myself, but Thea mentioned you were going to put up a PSoH bestiary and I thought you might have the information. XD

Time for Tay-chan's fun with referrer logs. I swear, over half my hits come from d1g1m0n y401. I don't even write it. And most of the hits are referencing an entry where I'm discussing my d1g1m0n y401 hits. I'm baiting search engines, whee!

My last twelve searchengine hits:

3xplic1t d1g1m0n y401 -- no, I don't write that. I never really got interested in the show. Even the existence of dubs, as well as rampant commercialism, can ruin a series for me.

yaoi vagrant story -- sure, why not? See the sidebar; I've put up a couple of helpful links. Hmm...my first searchengine hit was for this, actually. *^_^*

d1g1m0n s3x fr33 -- sometimes, I wonder what you people are REALLY looking for.

talya firedancer -- a hit for me. ^_^ You found me.

Wraeththu Art -- Now, I'm not really fond of the cover art, but I love the book.

Yue fics -- yes, the world needs more. Especially more Thea Yue-fic, and more Meg Yue-fic, and more Catsy Yue-fic. ....Right, and I should prolly finish mine, too.

fr33 d1g1m0n s3x -- well, we know what's on SOMEONE'S mind!

Chrono Cross Yaoi doujinshi -- no, but get back to me in a month. After Yaoicon, I may own some. But you can't have it. And I can't put up scans. =P

Tom Riddle fanart -- I did find some good Japanese fanart, like this picture.

d1g1m0n+s3x -- Again with this?

d1g1m0n doujinshi -- go away. Go to e-bay.

Final Fantasy VIII -- Try Kinokuniya's, if you have a local one. If they don't have it, they can order it. Online, try e-bay. XD

I have to agree with Thea; Google needs to include an "omit blogs" checkbox.

My creativity is at a low ebb. Therefore, I intend to play video games and read good books until I feel like typing again. Either that, or I'll poke at some other WIPs and see if they bite back.

I've gotta say, I love how often the Technomancy chicks blog. There's always something new to read. XD D, I hope you're feeling better/will feel better, and it sounds like your parents are taking GREAT care of you. ^___^ And Arielle, happy birthday!

*floop* *flail* *fschnick*

Now we present the morning of incoherent action-sounds.

I'm working on limefic and I'm trying not to laugh. This is not a good sign.

*thoughtful* On fourth thought, I'm not sure I want to be ON a panel at Yaoicon. I've been see-sawing on do-I-want to/do-I-not. As I was telling Janie, I get vicious stage fright when a bunch of people are staring at me IRL. I stutter. It's not a pretty sight.

Besides, it would cut into genki-hanging-out-with-friends-just-enjoying-the-panel time.

If you (this is an in-general you) see me at Yaoicon and come up and introduce yourself, and I am rather bemused and standoffish, it's nothing personal -- I'll likely be overwhelmed witless. Either that, or trying to organize 10,000 things into one little weekend. Wait, I'm already trying to do that. @_@

Oh, and Ka! I was going to get some doujinshi for you, wasn't I? E-mail me, or IM me, and remind me who it was so I can scribble it down and stick it with my Yaoicon packet. Which also reminds me...PUU! Did you want me to get something signed for you? Or did someone already offer?

;_; I want Thea-fic. It's been too long.

I'm not a figment, I'm a fig.

And twenty points for anyone who recognizes the reference. *snerk*

Just a quick word on solipsism. As I understand it (and all I know on solipsism is from Robert A. Heinlein's books and a half-remembered college class), solipsism is a self-centered form of existentialism. Basically, it's the belief that the world exists only as long as you're watching it. And you're the only self-aware person in the world, because your consciousness is the only one you're aware of.

It's fun. It's like playing God. So if anything bad happens to you, you're a masochist.

This works for people with big egos, or whimsical senses of humor. Also for some philosophers. Anyhow, like Heinlein I'm a solipsist on the third Wednesday of every other month, just for a change of pace.

All cats are solipsists.

KAAAAA! You're! Too! Cool! The pages look really l337. XD XD XD Since you finished up Puu's present for me, I mean it -- is there a fic you'd like to see?

For the record, giftfics take me a long time. >.>

YOU SPOONY BARD!

I recommend Final Fantasy 4 for whatever ails you. Even before Cecil goes through his transition from dark knight to *spoiler,* a paladin who looks like Arslan there's Edward the allegedly spoony bard, Rydia the adorable summoner, and lots of fun RPG-ing. Even the twins weren't so bad. Yes, the system is primitive, but it's fun and not too difficult to play. And thanks to Tenshi, I'm looking forward to getting Edge in my party. XD

I had a rant subject all picked out, and then I decided that it was far too much energy and time that I would be pissing away rather than devoting that energy and time to writing. There are a couple of projects that I've been meaning to nurse back to life and health.

Elysaar, I love the new layout. I want some Hunter x Hunter! ^____^

Ahh, Janie, welcome back. Hey, at least I'm not as far behind on the RP as I was last Friday! Right? ;_;

WhiteCat-chan 'mouto, LOVE! HUGS! And I'm sending lots of positive energy in your direction!

Kei-chan, I hope everything's all right! ^____^

Maybe I should've unsubbed from the YSML instead of bloodandaltars. I don't think I've gotten good C&C from that list since I was posting GW fiction. Eeeer. And now people are making such a fuss about the whole C&C issue on-list that the chances of C&C from this moment hence are approaching probability: zero.

And I wanted to say hi to a new referrer, Yoshi. Hi! ^_^ Cute blog. I had something I wanted to say about the title, Solipsistic Conversation, but I've got to DASHU~!

It's Monday. I'm always late for work on Monday.

"Try to catch me, Ashley Riot!"

Now I'm happy with the colors. n.n

I still have an obligation to finish becki's birthday fic as soon as possible (after the fact, but I was able to show her seventy pages and hey, that's something.) I never intended to write a damned epic, but that's what decided to be written.

Some good birfday stuffs yesterday! The package my Mom overnighted turned out to be the first double disc of "Outlawstar." And becki, amazingly, got me a disc of "Card Captor Sakura." She really does love me. n.n Not only that, but she got me the final two volumes of "Wish." And....she likes it. @_@ Hisui and Kokuyou are my favorite characters, with Kouryuu coming a close third. And I love the neko-girls. She loves Hisui and Kokuyou, and the neko-girls. n.n

She also got me the first three volumes of "Hikaru no Go," and I love it -- both the art style, and the characters. I ADORE shounen manga, and this one is fun. Although I have to agree with Kya and say....Hikaru should not be slashed. >.> He's just too young. And too...too boyish, I guess. ^_^ *thud* I can admit it when I see a straight character, and he IS. (But Sai is not.)

My "big present" hasn't arrived yet because it was backordered. That's okay; I'm just happy that becki's "Final Fantasy Chronicles" got here.

A lot of people have been IM-ing me lately to ask if I'm working on Anfang, or Morgan Vale, or whatever. The answer: not just yet. I still do need to finish "Burn Like the Sun"!! *rips out hair* Once I'm finished on that.......I don't know. Anfang and Morgan Vale definitely top the list. Then again, the Saiyuki fic and Vagrant Story are right up there.

This layout is 100% designed by the talented Tro. ^_____^ Arigato, Tro! I love it.

All I did was pick out the colors, and that took me two tries.

And as a final word, bwahaha!! Ashlea, the X fandom needed that strip.

ashley gave chase for sydney at Saturday, July 28, 2001 at 07:44 a.m..

Not bad, not bad...

On second thought, everything looks good except for the colors. Which I have only myself to blame, because I chose them. I need to screw around with the font and link color scheme a bit, then I'll settle down with this layout for awhile.

My bosses bought a cake for me! Tiramisu, and it was pretty good for store-bought stuff.

Now, I'm wiped. I'm going to crash for awhile. >_< And I managed, somehow, to write six pages of smut in three hours. A new record. We'll see tomorrow if it's any good.

ashley gave chase for sydney at Friday, July 27, 2001 at 10:16 p.m..

Er, test?

Behold...the new layout. I think I have royally screwed something.

Damn.
