I love my mother, I do, I love my mother, just one more day, I can survive one more day... *clenches teeth ...because I love my mother...I do...
I've managed to slam my finger in the door. My index finger, of course. And it's already starting to purple up quite nicely. Ficking may be postponed until much later this week. >>.<<
I can survive one more day...I think.
Then again, there's nothing quite like getting drunk with your mother while you both ogle good-looking guys. O.o
Happy birthday, Frank! That, and I love my mother. ^_^ That will be all. Blogging may ensue later. Possibly not.
It has begun. *mortal kombat gong* Yaoiland goes live with its first entry. ^________________________^ Everyone may commence sweatdropping. Petitions for mercy will be laughed at.
And Frank, I love the idea of Card Captor Spike. *piku* Do I sense a filk coming on? *sparkles*
"I got a long enough leash; I could almost hang myself..." Today's quote is courtesy of Sting. Radio silence is imminent...I might make an entry tomorrow, but for all whom I owe mail, I apologize, and to all those in the RP, gomen nasai, and to everyone on tayfic and those expecting updates...whoops! Maybe tomorrow. I was cleaning last night, and this morning too. Yuuki did the wrap-around-the-arm-and-kick thing because I shut him out last night, and moved his food, too. Running the carpet shampooer yesterday prolly didn't help...
Wow, that was random. ^_^
Yaoiland is just about ready for unveiling~!! UT did a terrific job on the layout. Now we're playing jan-ken-pon to decide who gets to make the first entry, then we'll all link from our blogs. And you'll all get to share the madness.
I found the sweetest webcomic yesterday, Boy Meets Boy. It was a nice diversion from spreadsheets and purchase orders. >.< Warning, as the title indicates, it depicts a gay relationship! ^_______________^ A really cute one. I love Skids and Cy; they're SO canon-slashy. ^_^ And Harley is a cute little uke.
*peers around at other blogs* Well, lotsa people are going to ACen (*green with envy*), others are bogged in tests...I don't think anyone will miss me this weekend. =^_^=
I finally figured out why I'm so nervous about Mom's visit. See, it's been about six years since tay and tayMom have spent real quality time together -- since the last family reunion, pretty much. (It was in Branson, Mo. Yeehaw.) And I haven't lived with my mother since I was twelve, so this weekend is going to be...very strange. But she's on a plane right now... I'm looking forward to it. But I'm still veryvery nervous.
Okay. *pushes sleeves up* Before radio silence, I'm going to try to get something done today. Erm, in the three and a half hours before I leave for the airport.
Riiiiiiight.
Listening to: "Perfect Love...Gone Wrong," Sting, "Brand New Day." "Put on a happy face!" Name that song and I'll kill you; I don't want to get it stuck in my head.
Ack!! She's coming tomorrow! She's coming tomorrow! She's-- *runs around, bangs head into walls* I'm looking forward to Mum's visit; at the same time, it's going to be an edgy couple of days. Thanks to everyone who has expressed "good luck" and "ganbatte." I still have a lot of cleaning to do tonight, not to mention the laundry. And durnit, must figure out how to get to the airport properly; last time I got lost on the way home. And I know I didn't take the short way there.
The thing about Mum is, I'm not sure if she'll snoop in the closet or not. But I've got her genes, so I'm suspicious.
Leareth, my feedback for "Shadows13" should be in your inbox by now. ^^ I'm so sorry! I sent it from work, so if you didn't get the attachment okay, let me know.
UT, the layout is...*pauses to mop up drool and nosebleed* Um, it's good. ^________________^ I don't care if it doesn't scroll, and with Pitas, I don't think we'll manage to get the entries to scroll; however, if we move over to Blogger, we could do it. I'm happy with the way it is, though. Exceeeeept...maybe a shade or two lighter for the red text. *snickers* And I really like the sub-header. Janie, your thoughts? Oh, and thank you so much for scanning Eriol-kun pictures for me! n.n I was really hoping for a color pic, but I suppose I could try to color it in Photoshop. *wince*
Okay, I gotta...um...do stuff. Running at that wall and banging my head into it sounds good. >.< At least I got all my Mother's Day cards mailed out; I accomplished something. Everyone! Don't forget! Mother's Day is Sunday! (I've gotten enough flak from two sides of the family over the years...never forget... *shudder*)
Oh, yeah, and I posted more "On Those Rainy Nights," the Saiyuuki fic I'm working on, to tayfic yesterday afternoon. I want to finish it, but... *shrug* I dunno. They keep TALKING. And I can't bring b4k4-b4k4 to work anymore, so I dunno when "Anfang" ch.7 will be uploaded. "Anfang" ch.8 is winning in the quizlet, so I'll make an effort to work on that, when I have a spare moment or two. *niko*
Listening to: "Junk Boys," Rintaro Kida, AYUMU, Hiroshige Hoshino, "Saiyuuki" Image Album 1. I need the money...I don't have time...I need the money...I...*crumple* I want to work late because I need the money, but I don't have time because there's too much to do. *rips hair out*
Leareth, I'm sorry! *bawls* This is why I hardly beta anymore... I'm terrible at getting the things back quickly. I can do it if I have a definite deadline, tho'. I'll tell becki to pop in "Chrono Cross" tonight and I'll get you your feedback. If there's any additional writing for the chapter, send me that, too, and I can finish it tomorrow morning. Early. *v-sign*
UT, you're my HERO!! Err...this is going to sound really demanding, but can you scan any color pictures of Eriol that you have? If not color, then could you scan any cute-but-disturbing pictures of *niko*-ing Eriol that you have? n.n As for the coding of the layout...hrmm...dunno. I think Pitas tolerates very little Javascript, if I recall what Puu was saying.
Yahoo is blaming its recent service problems on blackouts in California. Nice try, guys, but I don't think so. The Yahoogroups problems started last Wednesday morning, give or take a few hours -- the blackout was yesterday.
I strongly suspect there will be nothing for tayfic today. Or tomorrow, or Thursday, or... *wilt*
Don't tempt me to rip my hair out; I'm running out of tresses to pull.
Listening to: "She's Too Good for Me," Sting, "Ten Summoner's Tales." "It was that straw, that last damned straw. Why didn't you listen to the camel?" "Do I look like Dr. Dolittle to you!?" It was a bad, wretched day for tay-chan at work yesterday, at some point after ten-thirty. I should've realized it was a bad omen when my nose started bleeding yesterday morning, for no apparent reason. >.< Suffice to say, it's over now, and I'm going to pretend yesterday never happened. Which is easy to do, because the work I spent all day on got wiped out when I had to restart my computer. >.<
Then one of my co-workers amused me with the theory that everyone is having a bad time of it because there's a dreadful conjunction of the planets, but after the conjunction everyone's lives will take a turn for the better. Except those who will then suffer karmic backlash for their bad deeds. Funny, I didn't know she was into New Age stuff...
The high point of my day was when I went home and becki stunned me by saying, "Let's go buy a PS2. I just got my tax return."
So we did. And for my part, I bought the "Orphen" game and "The Emperor's New Groove" on DVD. WAI~! And we got to watch our subtitled "Gen-X Cops" DVD! WAI~! Wow...it's like a totally different movie. O.o Now I'm going to trade in my PSone for lots of games and a memory card. *slouch* Okay, well, not a LOT of games, but some!
This is gonna be a short entry. I've been slacking my e-mail in the most horrendous fashion, I'm woefully behind on my personal schedule of fics to write, and I have to get something done at work, because once I go home it's shampoo the carpets, clean the room, hide the gay erotica and yaoi manga, do laundry so Mum has a fresh set of sheets... *rips hair out* And try NOT to give the PS2 a few more test runs! And fill the fridge up, so it looks like we actually eat right most of the time.
Zoe, to my knowledge, Cloud never said THAT in response to Don Corneo. @.o;; Then again, there were a couple of different responses you can choose, and I always picked the same one. *snicker* Laguna, however, DID say that. And I think I vaguely remember that HP/MP restored dialogue. Definitely attribute the quotes, otherwise some people might be TRULY frightened. I think I want to see the MST when you're done. I think. *chews lip*
Elysaar, take it easy and pace yourself. The layout isn't a shred as important as your exams~!! And not nearly as time-sensitive. Ooh, the last episode, huh? Puu and I were snifflin' when we watched that. Well...I was, anyhow. "Cowboy Bebop" is such a DAMNED good series, and I did like the ending because it was so...fitting. >.< And the ending music for the credits...and SPIKE! And...and... Well, I'm looking forward to seeing the movie come out. I wouldn't be surprised by how long a shopping expedition can take -- been there~!! Ginny and My Regina always had to case the mall at least three times before they'd buy a single item. >.<
Janie... *pauses to laugh at self* The RP has been going on since March and we're still on the second day. ^_^ But hey, it's been a jam-packed two days! Besides, Yahoogroups has been a stone bitch for the past week. Grah, I hope you can get onto that webring...that, or I hope South Seas picks up once summer hits and people are done with school! But I am looking forward to finding out "who the loser is going to be." *shark-toothed grin* And good luck with Starbuck's. It's not bad work, for the first year. The second year, it starts to pall.
Haven't written anything since Thursday. And dammit, yesterday really threw me off my stride. However, I hope to have something, no matter how paltry, to post on tayfic by the end of the day. Yosh'!
Anyone...does anyone who reads my blog have a few good pictures of Eriol that I can tinker with? I promise, I won't do anything bad with them. n.n
Listening to: "Believe in," Nomiyama Masaki, "Gensou Maden Saiyuuki" Image Album vol.1. What are you talking about, 'gross?' This tastes just like chicken! Me, riffing on The Rock as he stuffs that scorpion into his mouth. Becki had to look away; actually, she looked away for most of the parts of "The Mummy Returns" that involved insects. *snicker* And she was desperately hoping that the scarabs wouldn't make a return, as well!
Go see "The Mummy Returns". Go see it right now! Yes, it got panned in the review in my local paper, and probably yours too...but I enjoyed the 1997 "The Mummy," and I enjoyed this one even more! It was a smashing roller-coaster of a movie with dazzling special effects, fun action-humor, basically a sumptuous feast for the visual eye. And yes, it was fast-paced so that you wouldn't notice the holes in the plot. However, overall I give it a good rating, and I'll probably see it again this weekend with tayMom. ...And despite lukewarm reviews, it was sold out at my local theater from opening night right through yesterday. I had to sit third row center, which gave us a nice up-close view of all the squicky special effects.
Everyone's layouts have been changing lately, so I'm in the development stages of planning a new one for mine. ^_^ It's going to be CLAMP-centered and that's all I'm going to say. Now, that said, does anyone know of a suitable cheesecake-type picture of Eriol-kun? n.n I wish I could scan my artbooks!! Having a CLAMP-based layout means, damn it all, my layout will be pastel as we move from spring into summer. Why CLAMP? Because I've been inspired by a certain niko-ing character lately. The second CCS movie shocked me when Eriol made his token appearance. His voice got so DEEP! Sasaki Nozomu, cutting loose...not to mention another, possibly anatomical cause which I won't go into.
Moving on... In recent e-bay adventures, I encountered this SMAP doujinshi. O.o;; There's something about real-people slash that...scares me. What do these poor men think of this? ...Nah, I bet they're amused. And I can't believe this FFIX doujinshi went for over $100. Becki and I were talking about that one, wondering if relena_chan just bid some absurdly high number she thought no one else would bid over. And...the winner was someone else, at fifty cents over $100. @.@ It's...um, it's a 24-page doujinshi. Some people are truly crazy. Either that, or I WANT their billfold, because they spend money like water.
Oh god! Someone put up an illustration book for a series I won't mention because I WANT this, BADLY! But...*wavers* Damn, I said I wasn't going to bid on any more items for May! ....maybe I can ask tayMom to buy it for me. Too bad e-bay won't take Flooz.
UT!! Layout~! *sparkles* Ganbatte~! And why did you "NOOOO!" at the last "CB" episode of the semester? Alejandro has all of it, ne? ^_^ And...and...I REALLY want to see "The Kid's Dangerous," so do your best!! *floats off on a cloud of sparkle*
Janie, I'm sorry Touma scared off Ryu. >.< Then again, it's a demonstrable fact that we can't be held accountable for his actions...and it IS Ryu's fault for being cute, shy, wearing crop-tops, and being generally molestable. And Brian wasn't stalking me, he was very polite and didn't even end up asking whatever question he professed to have. (I liked his l337-5p33|< entry.)
I like the term trunk stories. I think I'm going to start using it, because it could come in handy.
tayMom: What are you working on, honey?
Now, both of you go forth and fic! Or RP! Or...somethin'. >.< Wait, everyone is studying for finals.
My news link for the day: Go Margie. I like her columns. This one caught my eye the other week, because I was definitely on Mark's side - warn those people of that speed drop! *grumblegrumble* Cops will do anything to make their quota -- whoops, wait, did I say quota? Insert a suitable euphemism there, sorry.
And now, since it's taken me an hour to blog again, I'm going to follow my own advice and go forth and fic. ^_^;;; Yes, I'm at work. Yes, they still haven't given me anything to do. But I leave you with a "Dilbert" strip that illustrates my situation perfectly. PHM is, as everyone knows, the Pointy-Haired Manager.
PHM: Dilbert, this is our newest employee, Matt.
"Dilbert" is copyright 1998 United Feature Syndicate, Inc.
Listening to: "Kimi ni naru Aitsu," Shaoran's image song off the "CCS Single Collection" album. We have seen "Gravitation..." And it is GOOD. Must see more... If anyone knows of any episode transrations, I NEED them...we got the two tapes raw at Animenia Video raw, so we know about 50% of what's going on. But it appears that Ogata Megumi, Koyasu Takehito, and Miki Shin'ichiro made the roster of seiyuu, so It Is Good. Very much so.
And now we're watching the last tape of Saiyuuki season one, so I'm very distracted. *grin* It's been a good day. Except for the fact that we went to see "The Mummy Returns" at the 4:15 showing and it was sold out... *sigh*...well, we'll go back to buy tickets tomorrow, after we redeem the deposits on our cans...
That's about it for today! Did a whole lot of leveling up for FF8, got Bahamut and Eden, more leveling up, went to church with becki and read 1/3 of "Sorcerors Stone" for the third time, went to Kinokuniya's and bought the Saiyuuki Image CD #1, ate at BK's... That really is it!
I've done absolutely no ficking, and it's the weekend, so it's a nice break. And since tayMom is visiting this Thursday, I must devote tomorrow to cleaning.
Listening to: Nothin'. I AM my car.
I took the What car are you? test...and I AM my car. My result was Sedan; I own a '97 Toyota Corolla, which I push to its limits. At the same location as the car test, my color is blue, my dog breed is golden retriever, my aura is crimson (which contrasts interestingly with my color), eating style is Carnivore, executive type is Art Director. Oh, and my primary Goddesses are Hestia and Athena, Hearth and Wisdom.
I need to stop this and get something done.
Frank, I have no idea where she came from...all my hits today came from blogs or my page, except for three "unknown origin" which look as if they came from other trackers. I'd be curious to know...
"Are they saying 'jeep gun?'" "No, I'm pretty sure they're trying to say 'zip gun.' "...They're not trying very hard, are they?" "No, it sounds like 'jeep gun.'" Gotta love random Engrish. You know, I've come to the conclusion that they actually don't want me to do real work around here. My supervisor's supervisor just took my current big project away from me, saying "I don't have time to show you how to do this now; I'll show you when I get around to you." They've been doing that for a WEEK. Um, that's fine with me...I get more ficking done this way. I really do feel like I'm an employed ficwriter.
The RPs are back in action! *swoons with happiness* Seeing that I have no attention span, it was an absolutely miserable couple of days when I couldn't distract myself with the most recent threads of the two RPs I'm on. Leareth, I work a lot like you do...a couple of paragraphs on "Anfang," then I open up "Blue Moon" and start trying to tidy up that, then I switch over to "Rainy Nights"... I find it a lot more productive to switch to something when I get stuck on another. And when I can't work on anything at all, I RP or blog.
Yup, no attention span at ALL.
Speaking of that, I want this wall scroll, (who loves me? who wants to show me love?) and I bring you a Megatokyo link for today's amusement, and Frank, you're a bad influence on me, because I'm starting to notice the news -- and that article, by the way, is a good example of how people distort statistics to suit their bias.
Yesterday I finished "Anfang" ch.7, posted it to tayfic, and it's undergoing a resting period before I revise it a little, and declare it DONE. Funny, I haven't gotten any screams yet...I suppose it didn't leave off at a bad enough place, so I can feel free to wander off and work on all sorts of projects. ....Nah, I have a feeling I'd be strangled at home.
Speaking of home, the Mother of Tay is coming to visit this Thursday. Touchdown is eleven-thirty or so, which means I'll likely be offline until I drop her off at the airport on Monday, seven-thirtyish. I'm dreading this visit, while at the same time looking forward to it. I miss my mother, and I love her, and I'm looking forward to spending quality time with her, but she wants. To Stay. At My. Place.
Besides the fact that we'll have to bury all the yaoi manga behind the straight stuff (BOY, I'm glad we didn't get that nude Greek statuette), take in all the boxes of beer cans to redeem the deposit, and clean from top to bottom...we've got two cats. My mother is violently allergic to cats. She doesn't see a problem. She'll be sleeping on the couch, which is right near the litterbox. >.<
tay: Mom, are you sure you don't want to stay at a hotel? There are some good ones right around the corner...
Factor in the fact that tayMom never asked in the first place, but ASSUMED she would be staying at tay's, and.....tay loves her mom, but sometimes tayMom is cheerfully oblivious to certain realities. ...And I distinctly remember her face swelling up last year, and she never even TOUCHED Yuuki.
Ah, well, I can't wait to see her. We'll cope. I'll take her to Uwajimaya's and the beach and someplace in Portland, and maybe the zoo, too.
In other news, there are some people you just shouldn't give computer access to...my anonymous "you were a good writer, but...." revealed in continuing e-mails how first she was sorry and I AM her favorite writer, then wrote "I was just mad at Sephiroth. do you you know who she is? And the kinda
things she does? i was just mad at her." And followed up with "Hi!
I know i am getting annoying,so i won't e-mail you again. (Unless you
want me to.)" and concluded with "I felt really bitchy,so i sent a mean note to any name that caught my eye.
I like your name. Bye!"
*scratches head in befuddlement* People, this is a good example of how NOT to write a fanfic author. Self-monitoring is good. Essential, I'd say. Checking over your e-mails before you send them is good, when you write an author -- thoughts like "What does this look like? What would I think if I got a mail like this?" At this point, I'm amused. Highly so. I made an attempt to find out if there was actual content behind the complaint; looks like Anonymous was just having a bad day.
Speaking of bad days! Mou~! Why is everyone having one lately? Winter's over, the sun is starting to come out, and...oh. Oh, exams aren't over yet. That must be it for a lot of people. Well, I hope y'all enjoy your summer...
I'm increasingly excited about the prospect of opening up "Yaoiland." Since I have absolutely no design talent, I pawne--err, I dumped--err, I imposed upon my very good friends to work on the layout. Crossing my fingers, we may have something to show by Monday. ^_^
Priya~, what kind of fic do you want as payment? Better get the request in now...eventually I'm going to have to start working on becki's birthday fic.
Wahhhhh. *big sparkly eyes* I want. But I'm too poor, and I have to save up for Yaoicon. (What was that about no attention span?)
I think that's all for now. I'll prolly have to set up a new poll today, because I finished Chapter Seven of "Anfang" yesterday, which kinda makes the poll...moot. Gee, I'm too fast.
Yeah, this is kinda long. I'm done. My parting words... WOOO!! It's Friday!
