"I believe our official answer for that is 'tough cookies.'"

    Which was probably what applies in my case, but I was talking about my new job. Occasionally (rephrased, of course) we get to say that to customers. It's a refreshing change from working at Barnes & Noble for two years, where the Customer is From On High.

    The images are still down for now, but they should be up shortly. Katsu, kind, wonderful person, has offered to host my images. I'm tearfully grateful.

    Puu, where are you? ;.;

    I'm going to take a crack at designing a simple new layout for Chaos' new home. Mostly black and red. As anyone can tell by looking at this blog layout, it will suck a lot. But I'll be able to take pride in the fact that it sucks because of ME. >.> That's something, right?

    As Janie pointed out, I need to reassure people that NO FIC WAS LOST. I've still got all of it. Although my new "Gundam Wing" section will probably be nothing more than a link pointing straight to Gundam Wing Addiction, because I have (most? all? of) my Gundam Wing fic, but I'm too lazy to reformat it.

    I'm going to have to reformat a lot of stuff, because I lost about fifty percent of my HTML files from the f*cking Dencity site. Heh...and since I work forty hours a week, and when I get home, I crash or write fic, I can say right now that recovering the site is going to take awhile. I'll chisel away at it during my weekends. Currently I'm downloading a program to help me with my graphics.

    Work...was work. Feh. At least, by the end of the week, I came out of it feeling I can do the job right. I still have a lot to learn about the product itself, but customer service and admin chores are stuff I can handle. Almost had a panic attack on Wednesday, and for a couple of nights my dreams were haunted by the prospect that the business was borderline illegal.

    Last night we dragged Daniel over to Blockbuster's, picked out some movies, and he tried to pick out a game. Every single one he wanted was out. The clerk -- obviously her first day, poor thing -- instead of checking properly for the games, actually rang me up for about $180 of Playstation 2 games. The shift manager had to come over and mess around. He gave us a free rental AND let me use my "Rent two, get one free" coupon (which he really wasn't supposed to do) so we walked away with three movies for the price of one. Score. That poor kid, though -- looked like a deer in headlights. I wasn't mad, I was amused.

    We ran over to Hollywood Video because they actually put a box on the shelf to let you know the game is in stock. Yeah, the PS2 games have a high rate of theft if you leave it on the shelf, even with security measures... We got Onimusha and MDK2 Armageddon. Let me say, I'm SO glad we got the PS2. The graphics for both are very smooth and realisic. For Onimusha, the loading times between FMV sequences and game play are a bit jerky, more so than "The Bouncer," but I still think it's worth it. Daniel says there isn't enough blood. O.o Onimusha might be worth buying, or at least renting three or so times.

    I'm selling "Orphen's Revenge." I'm so disappointed with that game. With no Japanese-language options, it's unplayable. The dubbed voices are just plain bad. Besides, it's not as smooth and fully-rendered as some of the other games; it's more reminiscent of an N64 game. And I never thought I'd long to hear Cleo's original seiyuu screech "ORpheeeen~!"

    Well, becki should be waking up soon, and she'll be making a yummy breakfast. I have to get going. I sent another "Saiyuuki" snip to tayfic the other day, and today I'll be trying to wrestle a crucial scene in "Anfang" into submission. Yohji's psychology is giving me fits.

    And so it goes, and so it goes...

    My website is gone. Please fill Dencity's inbox with hate mail. I e-mailed an inquiry on the possibility, at least, of retrieving some files that weren't backed up on my hard drive; so far, no response. I'll send another mail today.

    Bastards.

    Anyhow! I have to leave for work in half an hour, so this is not a long blog. Basically, yes, I know my website is gone. For now, the new site will be at Caeru but I'm working on "Talyachan." I guess I'll have to redesign sooner than I thought. *weak smile*

    If some kind soul could host the images for my weblog, I'd be very appreciative.

    And Puu, if you're reading this, would it be possible to wrangle a new layout for my site out of you sometime within a week to two weeks? It doesn't have to be fancy; I prefer simple, but you're SO much better than I am at...well, anything regarding the internet. ^^ I promise I'll finish the Saiyuki fic. *wrings hands*

    Work is going...okay. I'm going through a period of adjustment. There has been some anxiety. We'll see how things settle out.

    We may be going to see the new Nicholas Tse film in Portland tonight. I hope so; I really need something to cheer me up.

    Love! And! Peace!

    "It's fugly out there."

    After experiencing an emotional (and financial) roller-coaster for the past two weeks (or month, depending on how you look at it) I'm looking forward to a little stability for awhile. I hope. *crosses fingers hopefully*

    I'm slightly edgy, still, because I start today at ten. Eek.

    Let's see...Friday night we found "Pet Shop of Horrors," incredibly, on DVD at a local video store. SCORE!! I bought it and put it on the other credit card. >.> I love the subtitled version. Becki loves it. It's got our two thumbs up -- four if you count the opinions of two grubby little ecchibis. We plan on collecting the manga as soon as a) we can find it and b) we can afford it. ^^;

    Recent movie reviews... "Dungeons and Dragons" is incredible dreck. Totally, almost irredeemably awful. Don't rent it unless you like wallowing in cheese and overblown special effects; even that wasn't enough for me'n becki to like it. Justin Whalin put in a good performance in spite of the director. (Who else thinks, in that last scene of his, he could've had a good shot at playing Squall?) And I've seen Thora Birch act -- and do so very well -- in more than one film so I'm assuming it was the director who put her through such a stiff performance. Jeremy Irons was...deliberately bad, I think. But he was having fun with it. "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" was incredible. Good performances, good characters, breathtaking martial arts choreography. The only thing that bothered me was the sword that was supposed to be "Green Destiny;" it was way too floppy. "The Sixth Day" was bad. Bad script, lukewarm performances, average action sequences. Futuristic special effects reminiscent of "Total Recall;" if I'd wanted to see that again, I'd have rented that instead. A couple of interesting concepts, such as a new take on cloning, but that in itself didn't make a good movie. And there was one cinematically dazzling sequence that led me to believe the director had promise, but not enough to keep my attention through the whole movie. ^^

    My biggest accomplishment of the weekend was answering all of my personal mail on Saturday; I'm still working on the rest. I repeat, if you've mailed me and you're still waiting for a response, I'll get around to it...but it might take me a very long time. ^^;;;; Sorry. Factor in that my e-mail provider may be changing soon, and things get complicated.

    I spent a few hours formatting fic for the Yaoicon fanfiction contest. =.= I need to edit out two pages of fic to trim it under the deadline. *gurgle* Take the pound nearest my heart, instead.

    I have absolutely no attention span. I worked on five different fics over the weekend, with varying degrees of success. Right now, "Morgan Vale" seems to be coming out on top. I hope to have something to post to tayfic today or tomorrow. Added another scene to the "Saiyuki" fic, another sentence to "Ouroborous," a few paragraphs to "Anfang" ch.8.

    Janie, now that I can load the picture, it looks AWESOME! ^__________^ *pikupiku* Hope you're havin' fun, and I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing more fic from you, whatever you choose to write!

    Puu, *roflol* at that doujin pic -- and I'm voting that Irvine is attempting cannibalism. Then again, he's biting his head. >.> And it will never fail to amuse me that Squall's name can be read "Scoooore!"

    I gotta go. I have to shower and get ready for work. Eeeeek. I'm rigid at best when entering new situations. Heeeelp.

    Listening to: Rosie 105. Someone shoot me.
    Playing: "FF7" Did anyone else think Dio's interest in Cloud was unwholesome? O.o
    State of Mind: *yawn*
